Bruce Willis reappears in public in the midst of his fight against dementia

Bruce Willis recently appeared in public in a rare way in the midst of his struggle with dementia. The actor is dealing with both aphasia and dementia.

Recently, the paparazzi captured a photo of Willis in a car. The actor was taking an afternoon walk along with his security team. In addition, Demi Moore recently spoke about Willis and her struggles with the disease.

“You know, I’ve said this before. Illness is what it is, and I think you have to be in a very deep acceptance of what it is. But for where he is, he’s stable,” Moore said, according to People.

He added: “What I always encourage is just meeting them where they are. When you hold on to what was, I think it’s a losing game, but when you show up to meet them where they are, there’s a great beauty and sweetness.”

Bruce Willis Update

Moore is supporting Willis through his difficult time and is also valuing the time they have together. The actor officially retired in 2022 after developing frontotemporal dementia.

“FTD is a cruel disease that many of us have never heard of and can affect anyone. For people under the age of 60, FTD is the most common form of dementia, and because it can take years to get the diagnosis, FTD is likely to be much more prevalent than we know,” the family said in a written statement.

The statement continued: “Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the coming years. As Bruce’s condition progresses, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shedding light on this disease that needs much more awareness and research.”

Meanwhile, his daughter Tallulah spoke about how she is dealing with her father’s illness. He said it has been a difficult time for the family.

“Hey, I love this guy so much and feeling feelings is a hard thing, but I’m so grateful to let them flow through me now instead of disconnecting from them!” Tallulah wrote in the post.
